PILATES CLASSES
Pilates is a low-impact, full-body exercise method that focuses on building strength, enhancing flexibility, and improving posture through mindful, controlled movement. Developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century, this method was originally designed to support rehabilitation and total body conditioning—and its benefits are now enjoyed by people all over the world.
At the heart of Pilates is the core, often referred to as the “powerhouse” of the body. Each movement is guided by principles of control, concentration, precision, breath, flow, and alignment, creating exercises that are both challenging and deeply restorative. Rather than working muscles in isolation, Pilates encourages integrated movement, helping the body function as a more balanced and efficient whole.
Practicing Pilates regularly can lead to a wide range of benefits, including:
-
Improved posture and spinal alignment
-
Increased core strength and muscle tone
-
Enhanced flexibility and joint mobility
-
Better balance and coordination
-
Reduced stress and increased body awareness
-
Injury prevention and rehabilitation support
One of the greatest strengths of Pilates is its adaptability. It can be tailored to suit people of all ages, body types, and fitness levels—from complete beginners to elite athletes. Whether you're recovering from an injury, managing chronic pain, or looking to complement other forms of exercise, Pilates offers a safe, supportive, and effective way to move.
Our classes provide a calm and focused environment where you can connect with your body, improve functional movement, and build a strong foundation for everyday life. With consistent practice, you'll feel more aligned, more energized, and more in control—both physically and mentally.

Danielle's class was recommended to me and I am very glad that I attended regularly. I am probably one of Danielle's oldest attendees, not far off 80 and having undergone spinal and hip surgery in the not too distant past. I am never made to feel out of my comfort zone and the class really is fit-for-all. Most of all the enthusiasm and humour imparted by Danielle is always uplifting and supportive. I highly recommend this class to people of all ages and levels of fitness. You can only benefit from giving it a go.

Danielle is the best Pilates teacher I have ever had. I believe this is due to her care and precision. We build up to challenging moves which would cause me a problem if attempted in other less diligent classes. I can feel that my body is stronger and healthier since starting classes with Danielle. With all this she is cheerful and encouraging. I look forward to our weekly classes.

From my first Pilates class with Danielle (years ago), she has been professional, inspirational and very very passionate about her class. Explaining all the moves and techniques and adapting to any injuries you may have occurred.
No two classes are the same as Danielle works hard to set a different programme for every class, and all of this is done with a good sense of humour dropped in to make it all fun.
I can highly recommend Danielle she is a very knowledgeable, passionate and fun instructor.

Having turned 50 (in recent years) I found myself not as flexible. Getting off the floor was not quite as seemless as it once was. The weekly Pilates with Danielle has helped my flexibility, balance and my posture. Sessions are fun, and done at every individual’s own pace.
