WHY PRACTICE PILATES?
Pilates is a form of exercise which concentrates on strengthening the body with an emphasis on core strength. This helps to improve general fitness and overall well-being. Pilates concentrates on posture, alignment, balance and flexibility. Due to the slow and controlled pace the chance of injury is much lower than with other more strenuous forms of exercise.
There is a connection awareness through the mind and body which is practiced through breath control which is similar to yoga but the movements and flow of the class is quite different. Pilates can be really beneficial for those who suffer with back pain due to its emphasis on core control and pace of the class. Other benefits of Pilates are improved muscle tone, flexibility, mobility, reduced stress, increased blood circulation and gentle weight loss.
We currently offer one Pilates class on a weekly basis. Danielle who is our Pilates instructor has years of knowledge and experience. Pilates with Danielle is are open level classes so they are suitable for everyone, she also will be able to make any adaptations should you need them.
Danielle also offers 1-1 sessions and Sports Massage.
